Vikings win behind strong outing by Oliver

Today at Disney, Mendon defeated Morgan School from Connecticut by the final score of 5 - 2. The Vikings were led by junior Tim Oliver's 6 innings of shutout baseball. Tim surrendered only 2 hits, walked 1 and struck out 3 en route to a terrific performance and the win. The offense took some time to get started but Kendall Mirsky's pinch hit single plated a crucial run to make the score 2 - 0 in the 6th. Ryan Amoroso followed with a clutch 2 out 2 RBI single that pushed the score to 4 - 0. Rahul Venkatesh came in and pitched the 7th inning allowing 2 runs and locking down the victory. Mendon is now 3 - 1 on the season and finishes up their spring trip Thursday night at 7:00 in the ESPN Stadium vs. Waterford Union HS from Wisconsin.
