Canandaigua edges Mendon 8-7 in league play

In our first league game of the season, Mendon fell in a close game to Canandaigua by the score of 8-7.  Mendon jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning but a 6 run 3rd for CA had the Vikings playing catch up.  2 more runs in the 4th for the Braves had Mendon down 8-3.  Mendon was able to chip away at the lead and plate 2 of their own in the 4th to close the gap.  CA added an insurance run in the 6th and had an 8-5 lead. Mendon put a rally together in the bottom of the 7th trimming the lead to 8-7 with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 2 outs. A hard hit ball to third base didn't get through though and Mendon had dropped their second in a row.  The Vikings are now 5-3 and play Greece Odyssey Sayturday at noon.
