Raimondi's relief effort leads the Vikings to victory
Connor Winn drove in the tying and go-ahead run to give the Vikings their first lead of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning, as the Vikings came back to beat Irondequoit 8-7 on Wednesday.
Irondequoit jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. A solo blast by Kralles started the inning off.
The Vikings scored three runs of their own in the second. The Vikings scored on an RBI single by Max Owens, a bases loaded walk by Jake Volker, and a walk by Brian Dickinson.
The Vikings matched their one-run fourth inning with one more in the fifth when Zach Troiani hit a long home run to left center field.
John Raimondi was the key contributor to the Vikings win as he took over on the mound with 1 out in the fourth and his team down 6 - 3. John promptly induced a double play ground ball to get out of the 4th inning jam. Raimondi held the Eagles to only 1 run over the next 3 2/3 innings to earn the win. He confidently dealt strikes and ground balls. The middle infield, Connor Winn and Brian Dickinson combined for 3 double plays today.
The Vikings up their record to 6 - 3 on the season and travel to Canandaigua on Friday for their next contest.
