Mendon tops Brockport behind a strong outing by Owens

In Brockport today, Mendon came out on top in a pitchers duel by the score of 4-1.  Senior, Max Owens, pitched a gem allowing only 4 hits while pitching a complete game.  Max kept Brockport hitters off balance all day recording 9 strikeouts and allowing only 1 unearned run.
Senior, Chris Hanley got the Vikings on the scoreboard with a two out RBI single in the second inning. Junior, John Ciaccio delivered the game changing 2 run single in the 4th inning.  Owens made the lead stand up. Senior, Brian Dickinson led off the 6th with a single, stole second and eventually scored on a passed ball to provide Owens with an insurance run.  Mendon moves to 2-2 on the season and will face Batavia on Thursday in the home opener.
